Happy Sunday Friends and Fans of Rabbit Valley® Comics,

Just a quick update on the happenings at Rabbit Valley.

We’ve updated our back end processing to use a new credit card verification and processing system. It’s the same system that some conventions are using and has allowed us to have much faster order processing times. During normal business hours orders are shipped within ten minutes of being placed! This makes us very happy. This also removed some legacy software that will allow us to remove some legacy code making the site faster and more secure. Speaking of security we have upgraded our security certificate to an enhanced verification certificate.
The fox really likes seeing the green verified security lock and the name of the company in browsers.Screen Shot 2016-01-31 at 4.01.28 PM

Additionally we updated our accounting software to handle contactless payments at conventions and events. We also migrated our shipping software to the same platform as our other software. We’re now 100% off virtual machines for business operations. Everything is run off the same computer now. This makes the fox happy as over 90GB of virtual machines are no longer needed.

Speaking of our crafty Fox, he spent the better part of last week processing the Q4 artist payments. All the checks have been mailed.

Lots of stuff going on behind the scenes here at Rabbit Valley.

New Items.

Happy Friday Friends and Fans of Rabbit Valley® Comics,

This coming weekend we’ll detail all the changes we’ve made to the store and what our plans for 2016 contain in our semi-regular newsletter. Today we want to focus on some of the independent, self published, authors in the furry fandom who don’t have the backing of a company like Rabbit Valley. These are authors who went out and did it all themselves to get their works to market. We feel they deserve some attention too.

Sheath and Felix Book 1: The Plight of the Ninetails Part 1 by Christopher Weatherall

Sheath and Felix is the first of a six-part series of novels focusing on two gay anthropomorphic characters and their troubles during an inter-universal war. Intended to be a series focused on real life issues in a fantasy setting, the book is posed towards a college aged audience and contains some homoerotic content.

This is the story of Sheath and Felix, who are essentially two 20 something men who are just starting college and still trying to figure themselves out. Although, in the book, they are represented as an anthro wolf and lion.

At the very beginning of the book the two are bound together in a very cliché romance, but as things progress it is made clear that, although this book is a Gay, Anthro, Sci-fi Romance/Erotica type story, there is much more going on than first meets the eye.

About the Series

The universe is at war. The All Father, creator of all that is, has risen from his eternal slumber and is determined to put …all life to an end. Sheath Solarin is the Mortal heir to the Celestial throne. He and his new-found lover Felix Adawnte must face the impossible and find a way to save the universe and all that inhabit it from the impending destruction.

About Book One – Plight of the Ninetails Part 1:
Sheath Moondawn is your average gay wolf boy. All his life he thought he would stay that way, average, until the day he learned of his true destiny. Now he has the fate of the entire universe on his shoulders, and to top it all off, the love of his life, Felix Adawnte has proclaimed his love for him! Overwhelmed by this rapid turn of events, Sheath must now learn to find a balance between his relationship and his destiny in time to realize his true potential and stop the Queen of Darkness from furthering the encroachment of the void.

The Plight of Ninetails Part 1 is the first Installment of the Sheath & Felix Series Featuring the Anthropomorphic characters Sheath and Felix.

This book has Homoerotic content and is intended for Adult readers only.

Trap Me! by Chris and Cooper Elkin

“Oh wow! You’re looking at our book!

Yes, let’s see…

Unconventional music composer Aidan Prowl, a canine in his right mind (sometimes), wants to go in search of an ancient musical instrument. Yes, all well and good, but the journey is dangerous and he knows that he shouldn’t go alone.

When opportunity strikes, quite literally—through his window—he gleefully blackmails Zack, a down-to-earth feline, into going with him. Aidan and Zack may end up finding more than they were looking for, and not only in the romantic sense—if they can both stay alive long enough—trapped in this thrilling treasure hunt filled with bandits, puzzles, suspenseful chases and so much more.

Keep your paws crossed and hold on tight as this book will take you through the most incredible furry adventure you will ever read, with colorful characters and, yes, steampunk nuances.”

– Chris and Cooper

Farmost Star I See Tonight by Johnathan W Thurston

They were wolves–two lupine teenagers seeking refuge from the hazards of a winter-cursed land. Rian howls to the rising sun. Lissa howls to the moon at night. When fate forces the two forlorn calls to coincide, they realize they are not alone. As Rian’s black fur brushes across Lissa’s own white fur, their destinies become intertwined in this tale of friendship and love. Rian’s father is not pleased with the disappearances of his son though, and a lustful hotshot from another pack tries to take Lissa for his own. In this world of wolves and romance, both Rian and Lissa must decide what they truly value and make sacrifices if they want to stay together. Farmost Star I See Tonight is a young adult, fantasy romance novel about the dramas and trials of teenage love in the form of two love-struck wolves. Being two completely different wolves, the pair symbolize the harmony that can exist in relationships involving people of equally different backgrounds. In this novel of raw emotion, the point of view switches from Rian’s eyes to Lissa’s, and the reversal of perspective continues in order to give a clear sense of the black and white prevalent in the novel. These unique characters take the plot in a direction entirely different from the average romance novel, being neither a happy ending nor a tragedy. Rather, this story gives hope to teenage readers by letting them know that the road to love and life is not paved in asphalt or even diamond. It is broken glass–painful yet shimmering with beauty.

Furries Among Us: Essays on Furries by the Most Prominent Members of the Fandom edited by Jonathan W Thurston

Are they human, or are they beast? Over the past several decades, the world has seen a new phenomenon on the rise, a group of people identifying as “furries.” They have appeared in the news and popular TV shows as adults wearing fursuits and participating in sex parties, but what are they really? This collection of essays on the furry fandom reveals furries through their own eyes, with bestselling novelist Kyell Gold, award-winning artist Rukis, the International Anthropomorphic Research Project, and so many more, covering topics from anthropomorphic art to fursuiting to conventions and the psychology behind furries. Some of the essays are comical and playful, while others are serious and academic. On one paw, this is a work for non-furries to get a glimpse into the anthropomorphic world. On the other, this is a chance for furries to hear from many of their favorite furries celebrities.
